Under the skin
Posted by Tony Perkins on Mar 19 2006
Upon recovery of my quickest, hence most humane kills, I find my Nosler between the skin and whats left of the muscle mass of the far shoulder.

My longer and sometimes weakest blood trails are usually the result of the complete pass through.

Because of this I often give up accuracy for bullit performance. Case in point, my favorite rifle..Remington 700 30/06...I used core lokts for years. Why? 1/2 MOA accuracy. Problem was I would often recover my game with the same pinky size exit hole as enterance hole. I switched to faster expanding bullets and have found for a slight sacrifice in accuracy I now have quicker kills! I also noticed I now typically recover my bullet....under the skin outside shoulder.
