True Hunter

Well lets put it this way. I have no problem killing a spike fork Marten. I kill what comes to the call. I can't help that all we could call in was mature bulls. I can't help that out of a 10 day hunt I only got to hunt 3 evenings because we were so busy packing meat. I can't help that. I can't help the fact that we seen numerous cows and calves and small bulls after pullint the trigger.

The area biologist told me that he was working on permit numbers as we spoke to put in the spring draw supplement.

He also told me that if you don't draw you can hunt registration and cut the antlers if you want.

I wont lie I enjoy the antlers in my living room as much as the meat in my freezer. In my mind there is no problem with that.

<Edited slightly>This will probably be in the spring supplement and you will be cutting antlers in the registration hunt.

By the way as I was walking through Tanana, Ruby, Galena and Kaltag last year I don't remember seeing any antlers that were cut??? Why would that be. Do only the non locals have to cut them or does the local law enfocement out there favor a local Yukon person over a guy from Wasilla???

I don't recall ever seeing any citations written by the troopers either. Now if I am correct here the hunters in Tanana and Ruby would pretty much all have to cut their antlers since they live in a permit area.
