bannock
Posted by bushrat on Mar 23 2006
Flour, water, salt, a bit of baking powder. Or if you prefer, you can use sourdough starter and make sourdough bannock, but it isn't necessary. If you're opposed to baking powder you could try baking soda or use yeast to rise the dough.

Our favorite bannock used to be when we had some cheese; we'd cut into small cubes and mix with the dough. Also, cinnamon-raisin bannock is quite good. Used to live off the stuff in summer when traveling the rivers.

Experiment and see what you come up with. Sizzling frying pan a must.
Best, Mark
