If you're using it for firestarter, just take some extra. You can always burn the leftover so you don't need to haul it back. I've always got some on my boat when I'm deer hunting on Prince William Sound. Then make sure you have a heat source to put the boots close to, but not so close you melt them. Definitly roll them down. If I don't have newspaper with me I put them upside down until no water is running out, then turn them upright near the heatsource. Warm air/steam rises so by having the opening upright it's easier for the moisture to escape.
