Once I stepped out of the arctic turn and heard a terrible noise from the rattling bushes.  My dad and I watched for a few seconds and then the black bear charged from the bushes about 40 yards away we both drew hand guns (454, and .44 mag) and the bear was hit 4 times.  He turned to the left and ran into the bushes and we found him dead an hour later.
