You might be thinking about the company that provides "bear guards" for oil exploration companies.

A friend of mine works for them as a bear guard.  He may be reading this.  It seems to me that he said that they can cover 40 yards in 5 seconds.  They had to practice putting 5 slugs into a moving bear tarket as it came at them.  Had to hit it 5 times in 5 seconds before it got them.

He also told me the best place to aim when a bear is charging..."in the middle".  Realistically that is the best you can hope for.  None of this aiming for the shoulder when one is in a full charge.

I've never had to do it although I seen lots of bears up close.  Hope I never have to.
