Meindl Hunters For Sure!
Posted by RedLabel on Apr 08 2006
Falcon,

Go with the Hunters...you'll be glad you have a 10" boot.  I have worn the 10" Meindl's for years hunting sheep, caribou, & moose.  I have plenty of 8 miles days on them.  The 200 gram thinsulate won't heat up your feet like most boots that these days carry 600-1000 grams of thinsulate.  You'll actually be glad you have the barley noticeable 200 grams of insulation.  The 10" support is a must for ankle support on the rocks & hills & the occasional creek or bog you need to cross.  The key is you socks...make sure you go with a poly-pro thin liner sock & good Thorlo hiker over socks...NO COTTON!  My first pr of Meindl's leaked after 4-years of use & I sent them back to Cabela's...they prorated the boots & sent me a new pr the following week, costing me $65.

Good Luck & Good Huntin......

V/r,
RedLabel
