Martentrapper, being on the board of game doesn't make you answerable to the electorate. You're answereable to the Governor.(who doesn't give $.02 for the electorate's opinion at present)Also being on the BOG doesn't equate to managing by legislation. The haul road bill and HB 170 equals managing by legislation. The game board is supposed to listen to the biologists, concerned citizens, and enforcement, (the people who have to make sure we are all following the rules, hence their opinion of if a rule is enforceable is important) and make decisions to the best of their ability. That's actually the best way to manage if it was left alone to do the job.

But managing by legislation or by ballot box is a recipe for disaster. That's where you end up with city folks telling you you can't trap martens because it's too cruel and you can't hunt with dogs because really, they don't want you to hunt at all, and then finally they vote or legislate you out of hunting. That's the opposite extreme from the one pushed by AOC, but it's just as wrong.
