as usual, i agree with derek.

i carry a colt python .357 with 180 gr. hardcast +P+, 4" barrel, hogue grips. i can hit what i aim at with this setup.  i can't with the heavier firepower.  this is also small and light enough that i will carry it. i keep it on the cumberbund of my pack.

i can keep all my shots in a pie plate out to 60'.  hopefully, i won't be threatened beyond that range. i guess it is better than nothing, although not ideal.  i can always shoot myself with it as the bear is tearing me apart.
