I also shoot partions out of all the rifles I hunt with and have not had the chance to check the weight retention due to pass through on everything I have shot. But a good friend has shot a 6x6 elk with a 250 grain partition out of his .338. He found the bullet in the opposite shoulder weighing in at 243 grains. I would also recommend them.
