[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] 6.5-08 (260 Rem) Posted by George on May 03 2006 Gotta go with Murphy, The 260 is one of the easier cartridges I've dealt with in reloading, getting to shoot right, easy recoil, etc. Not unlike, the 7-08 it fills the gap between 243 and 308. Lots of good 6.5 bullets out there. Don't know why the 20" barrel?? Personal taste I guess. I wouldn't overlook a good, stout 120 grain bullet either- may depend upon the twist rate of the rifle and throat length as to which bullet, 120 or 140, a particular rifle likes. I've found the 140s tend to encroach upon the powder space, extending far beyond the base of the neck. This is particularly true if loading for a shorter magazine OAL and or a chamber with a shorter throat. good luck Previous: 6.5mm - 284 is best!
