Wow!  What a bite.  That does explain alot.  I have never found a metric one, but that would explain the hitch.  I guess you could take it back to exchange for a standard thread model.  I learn something everyday.  Yeah, I like the Tikka, too, but gotta have scope mounts.  Good luck with it and good shootin'.
