[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] Poor groups from a Ruger 300 win mag Posted by KC Moore on May 16 2006 Your ruger is a thin walled barrel (not good) but the best way to improve accuracy in these guns is to let the barrell cool down between shots the magnums spin very rapid and develop alot of hest as they travel down the barrel, I ve owned rugers and love their actions but their barrels are cheaply made without alot of care in terms of toerances or mass. this is true wheather you are in alaska or any where else save your money and let the barrel cool down, put this sentimental value in the gun case and buy a remington!!
