Simrad Lessons

Am running a Simrad CE33. Anyone out there have lessons learned about settings (gain, etc) to use, things to avoid? How do you tune differently when targeting halibut, rockfish, salmon, sharks?

Also, any knowledge of a way to download memory contents (like waypoints, tracks) from the unit to computer, or vice versa?
