[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] PWS sounds exciting Posted by jimhouse on Feb 22 2006 Thanks you guys for replying! Big boat sounds like the way to really enjoy the place. Paul H mentioned Whittier being a better place to depart from; does anyone know if there are boat rentals to be had there? (28' or bigger?). Also, from Whittier, how much distance do you have to travel to Green Island or other locations to find fish (halibut, salmon)? Would 2 days allow enough time to see the beauty of the place and catch some fish by novices? (As you can tell, I've never been into PWS except for a long range charter last year to Montague, which was great, but looking for a slower pace, time to explore & fish). Also, I will be in Sterling for 2 weeks or so mid july; anybody venturing into PWS around that time who wouldn't mind a tag-along? (I don't get sea-sick, I've worked on charter boats in Hawaii, and commercial fished (gasp) in Cook Inlet as a deckhand).
