Hi folks! I've found a place in Whittier that rents boats for use; up to 26'.  My question: can a couple of guys, who have never been in the area expect to catch some fish, any fish?? (salmon, rockfish, small 'buts).  The boat comes with GPS w/some fishing spots, but I'm also intrigued by the reported beauty of the place! Also, is a day trip enough time to fish & sightsee? Late July would be the proposed time for this excursion, I heard there were 2 hatcheries that attract salmon, are these in catchable #'s that time of year? Any tips/advice in tackle, lures, precautions, etc. will be greatly appreciated!!
