Info on PWS
Posted by Sound Fisher on Mar 02 2006
I fish often out of Whittier and 2 resources that I use before I leave Anchorage is the National Data Buoy Center site and average about 2500 miles a year in the sound, and though I am not a "fairweather fisherman" I would rather go on days that aren't so much work, and a little more enjoyable. The information on these sites will help you somewhat to see whats on the way, or maybe not on the way. Sometimes,it is not unusual for Whittier to be blowing hard with whitecaps, but if you get out to Decision Pt. and its laying down and beautiful. If questionable, I try to get info from people that just came in. The marine forcast is just that. A prediction. Go prepared and have fun.
