I run a 25ft Tjet Maxim often in the sound. It is a riverboat but does pretty well in the seas as well as long as you realize you are still in a boat not designed for real ocean.  It rides wonderfully and closed up we travel long distances pretty comfortably.  I have the super 8.1liter engine with a hamilton jet and it does fine.  Have a radio and gps for any foggy days and just don't go when it gets too rough for these boat and you will have a blast.  A wonderful boat on the river as well...   Bill
