Several years ago I hauled 2 guys back to Whittier in a small inflatable. They had run out of gas, spent the night adrfit and were completely disoriented.  They were soaked and scared so I did the right thing.  I'm not trying to speculate on your preparedness, but I REALLY think Spoiled One's suggestion is a safer approach.  Another way to look at this, Will you have a better time focusing on hunting bear and taking extra provisions or going minimally prepared and worrying about sea conditions on your return home? Too many folks think PWS is flat water all the time.
