Jet unit fits 60,70 hp 3cyl 1989-1995 Johnson Outb
Posted by mattclark on Apr 11 2006
This is a complete Jet unit with reverse, aluminum impeller, and will fit a 1989-1995 Johnson or Evinrude 60 or 70 outboard motor, 3 cyl. It came off my 1995 Johnson 70. This motor came with a prop, I wanted to try a jet, so I had it rebuilt by JKS Services in Anchorage. (Turns out I am more of a fan of the ocean than rivers so I am going back to the prop)The conversion cost me $1200.00 and will cost you at least a $1000 if you have a mechanic do the installation. I will give you step by step instructions how to mount it to your motor. I will be available for phone calls to continue to help you if you need it. When installed correctly, it allows you to run in about 6" of water depending on your boat. Everything (water pump etc) works perfectly. I will throw in a transom riser ($200 value) if it will work for your boat. In order for this unit to work, you need to have your motor at the exact height so the foot is barely under your keel. This item is worth at least $700 - $800, but my reserve is only $600.00. You will be runnin' the rivers in no time, for a lot less than it will cost you to have a mechanic do the job. The salmon will be runnin soon!

P.S. The dimensions of the transom riser are 8 inches on front side, 21" on back side, and the gap to fit over your transom can be no wider than 2 and one quarter inches. In essence, this raises your motor 8" off the transom.

Shipping/delivery: The Jet unit weighs about 40 lbs, the transom riser is 15 pounds.   I will deliver in Anchorage, and will ship whatever way you find is most economical for you.

It came red, and I have painted it black to match my motor. It can be painted what ever color you want it to be.

Next: Is your jet unit sold yet? allenj Jun 25 2006
