Do you mean propeller?  or Impeller?  If you have a regular outboard i assume its a prop,  if its a jet conversion its an impeller.  There is a certian way to determine specific prop application for your boat.  It has to do with running the motor in proper opperational engine speed, as described by the engine.  Dont know what else to tell you.  Usually you change pitch accordingly.
